Nothing switches on

by nandos__ . Updated 18 years ago

Hi…

Let me start from the beginning…
I’m busy with this machine (AMD Athlon 1.4ghz) that only started loading up until the boot up screen of xp and or windows 2000 the it goes into a “veg” state. I then formatted the HDD and installed either OS again. It would boot up correctly for the 1st time then there after it would keep going into a sort of “veg” state or stand-by upon restarts… So i started troubleshooting and replaced or changed the hdd, replaced or changed the screen card, replaced the IDE cables, replaced and or changed the psu, changed the memory around to differnet slots… and yet still the same thing happens… Now the whole system is dead… The psu still works as the monitor is plugged into it and i tried another psu, but no response at all… i think the mobo is just whimpered its last breath, please advise…
