Notify a person of emails sent or receiv

By joy.mclaughlin@geosbush ·
Is there a way to send a copy of all emails sent or received for a specific user, or at least the addresses and date and time? This would be used by a manager to monitor a problem user.

you can set up the manager as an alternate reciepents which would delivery a copy of the message to both the user and the manager, from the admin console select the user in question, then delivery options tab, then setup the alternate reciepent, makesure delivery to both is checked.
hope this helps

Assuming this is exchange mail, the easiest way I can think of would be to assign the manager as a delegate to the person's mailbox and have the manager open it as an additional mailbox.

Quik and Easy - Do you have access to the users logon name and password? If the answer is yes, you can log on as that individual and open up Outlook. Just remember to use the mark as unread function (right click on mail and select the option) so you do not tip of the person that someone has been reading their mail. Hope this helps!

I hope you're using Exchange as all of our answers assume you are... :-)

One more option, if you need just date, time and recipient, is to enable message tracking.
Then, from Exchange Administrator, you can produce a list of all messages to or from that mailbox, going back however many days your logs are retained.

To enable Message Tracking, highlight Configuration, double-click on Information Store Site Configuration and check the Message Tracking checkbox on the General tab.

To track, choose Tools, then Track Message.

regards!
