NT -> 2003 VPN

By cmptrwhz ·
Does anyone have any experience "Successfully" implementing and NT -> 2003 VPN Setup? I have a new SBS 2003 server and an NT 4 Server in a branch office, and I am trying to get the 2 of them to talk over a PPTP VPN?

If anyone has notes on the config, please email them to msnetzko@chronicleonline.com

Thanks.

Mike

questions first, is SBS2003 running in mixed mode? Did you establish trust between them? Can the branch office ping the IP of the "main" office? How is RAS setup ? Do you have ISA server installed? Do you have a router between the internet and your LAN [including ISA if installed]? If so, does the routerh allow PPTP pass through? Is port 1723 open? How are clients form the branch trying to connect? e.g. is there a new connection made for VPN and do you use a FQND or the IP address to find your "main" office? In RRAS, have you configured to listen for inbound communications on the external interface card?
