I am trying to set up my home computer to take advantage of the US Robotics 56k voice modem installed on my computer that is runnig NT4. I’ve downloaded several different programs to experiment with, but the first on I tried said there was a problem, one of which may be that “most voice modems don’t work with NT4.” What I want to be able to do is set up voice mail on my computer, and use it to answer an 800 line for an in-house business I’m doing on the side. If at all possible, I would liketo have the modem use line one to connect to the internet, and line two would switch to the voice mail for incoming 800# calls.
1. Will a voice modem work with NT4
2. This was a $120 modem that seems like it should work, but is there another modem or card you would recomment?
3. Do you have any particular software or programs you could recommend for a small business application? (I don’t want to put out hundreds of dollars for something I’m experimenting with!)
