Company network has an NT4 Server and 20 Win 98SE clients. The Domain name on the server is WORKGROUP. All win98 clients log-on to WORKGROUP. I want to change all clients to NT4 for security/stability reasons. (PC’s hardware not up to Win2K) Can I create Groups/users as part of the domain WORKGROUP and have all the usual Domain facilities, and will NT4 Workstation log on to WORKGROUP, or does WORKGROUP on the server act as anything less than a domain. If so is it possible to change the WORKGROUP to a Domain on the server without a complete re-install. If WORKGROUP is in fact a domain, is it possible to rename it. Finally can anyone recommend a good book/web URL on NT Server administration.
Please help a new IT guy learning the ropes.
