Our LAN is comprised of a few NT 4 servers and Novell 3.2 servers. One Novell server hosts all the print servers/queues.
It is very common to add a network printer successfully to a Win98 or WinNT Workstation client by using the ADD PRINTER wizard.
The problem is we have a NT 4.0 server that needs one of the Novell Printers installed but when I go through the normal ADD PRINTER procedure, the wizard craps out before the printer is installed. No error message or anything, it simply returns to the “server selection” screen. I’ve tried re-booting the server but the same thing happens. My account has administrative rights on both the NT and Novell Servers and I can view the contents of the novell server in Network Neighborhood.
This is the first time I’ve needed to install a Novell printer on an NT server. Am I missing something really basic here?
