Old Print server, NT4 sp 5,ran fine till hard drive crashed.
Purchased a new server, installed NT4 sp4 then applied sp 6a.Re-added all 60 printers with the same drivers. Started having problems with the Spooler hanging up.Edited registry to “UseNonRFCCompliantPorts” (above 1024 instead of only the original 10, 721-731)-No help
Event Log has Event ID 2510 and “unable to map error 1722” The only reference I can find to this at JSIINC.com and says it may be corrupt Jet-Admin but that’s notinstalled on the machine.
Jobs will hang in the que and opening the hung printers show “printing/spooling” as the status. Sometimes the jobs will printup to an hour later, if I haven’t deleted the files in the spool folder.
This is causing me severe headaches cured only by large doses of alcohol 🙂
Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.
I will provide more info for anyone requesting it.
