    Nt 4.0 server network

    I set up a development network, PDC, BDC, member server. When the PDC first boot up, The Bdc and the member server can browse the network and see the PDC, But after one hour,
    The PDC drop off from the network neiborhood from the BDC and the member server.
    I set up the host file/Dns/wins. But the problem still exist. Please help.

      Make sure on your WINS IP settings that you have an entry for both the Primary and Secondary. Do not leave these blank.

      Check the transports you have bound to your NICs. The master browser only maintains a list on its first bound protocol. If you are binding multiple protocols, only the first will be made available for a browse listing.
      If you are running with multiple protocols, try removing all but one. Once you have done this, adding the other protocls back will place them later in the binding order.

        I uninstall the netbeui protocol and leave Tcp/ip alone, Reboot the server ( PDC) and also the BDC the porblems still exist.

      Seems you are facing Browsing Service problem. Check the Event Log on PDC, BDC & Member Server.

      Solution:
      Stop & disable the startup of Browsing Service on servers other then PDC. & check my Q/A for further help as I got the same problem once.
