NT 4.0 Server Receives back screen

By Shanghai Sam ·
What utilities or programs are available to determine what causes a NT 40 service pack 6a server running SQL server to unexpectly stop processing or only process 1/10 of its normal work load. It must be rebooted in order to return to working conditions. How can it be determine which app is causing this problem

NT 4.0 Server Receives back screen

Run perfmon on a 2nd NT PC to capture the processor usage at a regular interval to find the app?

When you say 1/10th do you mean processor usage increases, or DB searching speed decreases?

If your PC is on a network, has a Network Cardset to AutoSense and the SQL DB is on another server, it could be that the connection is dropping from 100Mbps to 10Mbps and the slower speed is due to less data coming in per second to process?
