NT 4.0 -> Windows 2003 upgrade residuals?

I recently started at a new company and I’ve been tasked with finding out if the Windows 2003 domain was originally upgraded from NT 4.0 or if it was a fresh install. Does anyone know if there is any residual registry entries, logs or anything in ADSI that would tip me off? Thanks!
