Are you asking about hardware or software types? Perhaps you are inquiring about full vs differential? With a little more detail I'm pretty sure you'll get a great answer!

----------

Full backup :
Makes a backup of all data-files and allows
to used other methods, like Incremental and/or Differential backups.

Copy Data:
makes a backup of all data-files, but since the Archive attribute does NOT record this
backup, it is not possible to used Incremental and/or Differential backup methods.

Incremental backup:
makes a backup of all data-files modified since the last backup of this file

Differential Backup:
makes a backup of all file modified since
the last FULL backup of this file
