NT domain - Win2000 client Sec Policy

By jon.reynolds ·
I have about 300 Win 2000 clients and 300 NT clients on an NT domain.

Does anyone have an NT policy adm file that is the can set the local security policy for 2000?

What I need is an adm file that can fully/partially mimic setting 2000 client security settings (as debut in NT's poledit.

Does anyone have one?

You do not use policy editor with Windows 2000. You use Group Policy Objects with Windows 2000.

I believe this article will begin to lead you towards the path you are seeking:

The National Security Agency has an extensive collection of GPO templates for Windows 2000, which can be used to set those local security policies on the workstations. See here for that collection:

Its not a simple as enforcing GPO's we only have an NT domain and need to use NT domain policies - its too complex to simply copy down registry.pol files aswell; we have too much version control problems. We want to keep it simple NT domain policies.
The problem is that 2000 adm files uses a different syntax to NT adm files. Does anyone have the 2000 standard adm files in NT format (that I can use in poledit) or a util that will convert them?
