NT Domain

By skbusa ·
When I logon to our network as administrator only the user name and password fields appear - no DOMAIN field. Since I was not responsible for the network setup ( just started working for the company) why wouldn't the domain field be available? I thought that choosing a domain name was part of the NT installation process.

2. I think that I see somewhere a tip for hide the domain name. I will search more.

About point2-nothing.
Verify your network setup. Type in prompt <ipconfig> and see if your network card is detected and if you have correct IP asigned.

I think you're getting the local windows login screen not the network one.
Check if you have Microsoft Client installed in Network Neighbourhood->properties

Sounds to me like your machine is set up as a memeber of a Workgroup instead of a domain. Check in the properties of your Network Neighborhood. It should show you there. If you click on the change button, you can alter it.

Need to ask your local Administrator to rejoin your pc to domain. It seems like the pc is configured for Workgroup or not join to domain yet.

This is actually very simple. Right click on network neighborhood and go to properties. For a Windows machine, Click on client for microsoft at the top of the list and hit properties. Make sure Logon to windows NT Domain is checked and that your windows NT domain name is typed in the box. Hit okay and and reboot when it asks you too and you should come put into the right area. If you are on an Windows NT machine, right click on network neighborhood and go to propeties. Under the first tab, Identification, click on change if it is showing computer name and workgroup. Check the box next to Domain and type in the domain name. That should do it after you save and close. If you need further help, feal free to email me at bitsybug20@hotmail.com
