NT/IE5.5: Clearing cached web password?

By PJGV ·
I am Using NT4.0 and IE 5.5.
For some reason I am suddenly unable to access a website.
The error is: that my (stored and until recently valid...) login and PW are not correct.
I need to clear the stored combination.
Have searched everywhere, but can not find the correct info :-(.

So big Q: Where or how can I do this?

Tnx in advance

NT/IE5.5: Clearing cached web password?

by Gary McP In reply to NT/IE5.5: Clearing cached ...

Hi Peter,

Login information can be cleared from a couple of different places.
In Ie5.5, go to Tools -Internet Otions -Content. There you should see a button labelled "Auto-complete". Click on it, and then "Clear Passwords". This will remove ALL user-ids and passwords stored by IE5.5.

Some web sites use cookies to store ids and passwords. Check under your profile directory for Temporary Internet files, and delete the contents.

Hope this helps!
Gary
