NT Logon Hours Kicking Off users.

    Servers: Win NT SP6
    Clients: Win 98 box’s

Problem: Here in our office I have logon hours set between 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and the “Forcibly disconnect remote users from server when logon hours expire” is NOT set. After 7:00 users are getting kicked off.

I believe I have seen this question before on Techrepublic, but I was unable to find it.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

    Thanks

Workgroup or domain? You cannot use the LOGON HOURS on a workgroup. This feature is only available on a Domain/Users.

Is Your Domain in sync? May-be PDC and BDC’s are out of syncronization or are there multiple domains with same name ( what is ablolutely bad idea).
Also remember, that if logon hours are set and Forcibly disconnect.. is not set, logged in users cant make new network connections but they can use existing connections.

Disable logoff buttons of Start menu and NT security dialog (alt-cntl-del).

      Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER

      Key:

      Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
      Name: NoLogoff
      Type: REG_DWORD
      Value: 1 disable
