NT password problem

By bbowman49 ·
I have recently started working at a school that has had many personnel changes recently. I have discovered that no one knows the password for the NT Administator logon. Is there any way to change it? I also need to know the easiest way to MAKE SUREthat I am logged on as an administrator with another account. It looks like it but then I find I am denied access to some folders.

That question is asked many times here and by far the most well-endorsed answer is to use the tools found at

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

As for your second question, run musrmgr and see if the account you are using is in the Administrators group.

If your account is an Administrator (in the Administrator group), or in the Domain Admins group, then you can just double-click on the Administrator account and change the password.
