nt randomly sees network

By darrenm ·
This has been getting worse . First it started downstairs on just two stations , they would all of a sudden stop seeing the network (peer to peer still worked). Once a reinstall of the network on that station helped another time just a off and on ofthe switch did the trick . So now a workstation not on that switch but on our main network just all of a sudden stopped seeing the network for 1 day and then was back on. Every station is running nt4 with sp6.

This sounds like IP address conflicts. You don't have a problem with the same IP address on multiple machines? If you are using DHCP check that any static IP adresses ie printers servers etc have been reserved/excluded.

Are all these machines of the same hub or switch? if so try replacing it.
Sounds to me like soemthign is creating errors on the network - theid checking cables - end to end - you may need a cable company for this.
