NT remote audit on a user or computer.

By teinfo ·
I want to setup audit on a user and some computers from my console NT workstation.
How can I setup this audit remotely and review the log files from my console computer?

Are there different making a audit between a user and a computer?

Can Iaudit where and what directory a user access to?

Thanks.

To setup auditing on the remote computer you should be able to open user manager. This is the first step. Once you can open user manager from your computer, then go to the file/folder you want to audit and enable auditing on the folder. I would recommend that you connect to the C$ share and then you can get access to any folder you want to audit.

You can only audit users, it will record the computer that is access the resource in event viewer. You can connect to this computer using eventviewer and look at the logs.

Good Luck!
