NT screen saver problems

By lwfisher58 ·
Have some NT workstations that the screen savers are GPFing under the user's profile. Log onto the PC as an administrator and they work just fine. Have removed and readded the screen savers along with rerunning the Service Pack. Any ideas?

My guess is that these screen savers are conflicting with some other software running under the user's profile. At least in our system, the administrator profile is pretty lean and clean compared to the users so we find this sort of situation quiteoften where users have added non-standard pieces of software.

The final answer, I guess, depends on how important these screen savers are.... if they are mission-critical, you'll probably need to start with a clean user profile and add the other applications one by one until the problem appears at which point the last one added will be the culprit.

Yes, Odds are that a program that runs with the users profile is causeing the problem. Look at the differences between the Admin and the user. One of those programs is the culprit. Good luck.
