By inamhaque ·
Hi Guys, form last three weeks My server shuts down of its own after office hours. I thought it would be a UPS but thats not the case.

In event viewer it says the last server shutdown was unexpected.

I haven't updated of installed any thing on this server but all of sudden this problem cropped up.

Any suggetions please?

Sever : Elonex xenon twin processor
ram : 1 gb

Probably some hardware is failing. Here's a question for you on this: does it have dual power supplies, or just one power supply? If 2, are they both plugged into separate power circuits?

I have had the cleaning crew once myself ( its funny now) One other thing to check is if someone is using the server after hours via terminal server or similar. what can happen is a user could shut down the server while in a terminal server session generating unknown shut down in the event log. one way to check this is look for event 578 in the security log at the time of the shutdown, 578 is a privileged use read the description to the end, you may find SE Shutdown.

Hi, thanx for your suggetion, but there isn't any terminal used for this server, But the problem is still there. Even the service enginner couldn't figure out what is causing it but working on his prime suspect he changed the power supply, still no use.

Some where in this forum I had found the similar problem with some one and guy had updated his graphic driver to resolve this problem, but its not working in my case.

So any more suggestion, I haven't got a clue what is it?
