NT$ Workstation printer setup

In a NT Domain how can I setup an HP laserjet 1100 printer on an NT$ workstation and share it with other desktops running Win98 and NT4 Wkstn. Do I have to be logged on as administrator to the NT4 wkstn to do this. Please help need the steps

Yes, you must be logged in as administrator on the local machine, but not on the network. Once logged in as administrator, run the HP software from the HP CD-ROM. When it prompts you for "local" or "netork" installation you want to choose local. Finish the installation and reboot.

Log back on as adminstrator on the local machine, click START - SETTINGS - PRINTERS and right-click on the HP1100. Select SHARING, choose to share the printer and give it a unique name (ex: HP1100). Click OK.
Now all Workstation can look across the network for the printer.

We spoke with HP and the software they shipped with the HP1100 was defective by way of not successfully applying shares. They provided us with new drivers and all is well. BTW..this only affected win nt systems.
