I have installed an Intel/2100 Network Card on this dual-boot NT4/Win98 desktop. Network card connects and communicates with DSL provider without problems.
When opening an internet application, such as Netscape 4.77 or an email client (Pegasus), the system is unable to establish and/or connect/communicate with the Network Card.
Indications:
Internet applications launch without problems. Problem occurs when internet applications noted above are attempting to gain access to the data coming through the DSL card (PCI Bus).
Important information:
After spending a lot of time working through this with several DSL service support people (h/w and s/w), it has been established & verified that the Intel/2100 is not the problem as the DSL signal from the onboard card always dials the DSL access code and connects without any problems.
Problem _does not occur_ under Win98 (latest update).
Need a solution as problem is impacting business.
