NT4/releasing DHCP assigned IP address

By paul ·
I need to get NT4 workstation to release a DHCP-assigned IP address at shutdown.
I've created a batch file to run ipconfig /release, then shutdown.
This works OK, but only if the user is an administrator! (I assume that admin priv are needed to run ipconfig /release)
Can anyone tell me anyway to get round this?

Hi what should be the reason for releasing the IP address when you do a shutdown. Don't you have enough IP Addresses. Make your expire time only 1 day then each day the computer will try to get the same or alternative IP address. You should be able to change the nt rights for the users on the Workstation. I will post another message with the correct rights. !

The machine in question is a laptop, used at multiple sites, each using DHCP on a different range of class B addresses. Addresses leased at one site will not work at the other.
