NT4 Server behavior

By Fischer ·
I am running an NT4 SP6a Server very fine since 3 Years and have connected 3 Workstations.
Now I changed the Workstations to newer HW with P4 1.8GHz and get the following Problem.
When trying to copy some files from the server to the workstation the server hangs.
When using the old workstations it runs without errors.
The HD in the server is in perfect shape. (no problems detected)
In the meantime I changed the NIC's (server and WS) the SCSI Controller (Server).
Results are always the same, when trying to copy the file the server hangs. (no BlueScreen, but no response anymore)
The files that i want to copy when the problem occurs are of random size and random type, but it happens everytime i try it with one of them.
When I zip the files then i can copy them to the WS. (But the HD ist defintively absolute OK)

Has anyone an idea what this might be?

I've had situations where this type of a problem is related to a memory issue. Since RAM is so cheap nowadays, replace your memory and see if the problem goes away.
