NT4 User Manager from XP Pro?

By peter.berger@genexsrvcs ·
I know that there was a MS program that enabled Win9x users to access NT4 PDC event viewers, usermanager and server manager. I cannot use this same program on an XP Pro installation and XP's own User manager will only let me administrate local accounts. It won't even let me change to another server. Does anyone have any solutions so that I might administrate my NT4 PDC from my XP Pro workstation. Thanks a million...

Didn't you run User Manager for Domain from NT4 Box under XP? Not sure it will work but MS brag that XP has "great compatibility".

Good luck.

Never really tried it, but I can't see why you can't copy the NT usermanager applet to the XP machine and set compatability for it (right click, properties, compatability) to use Win NT on that particular file.

Changed compatibility to Win9x & Win2k and it didn't work. Got the error, "This application failed to start because MSNET32.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem"

Get Dameware NT Utilities:
http://www.dameware.co.uk/
A wonderful NT utilities program. Manage all of your NT features remotely.
I know, I sound like an add for this, but I really love this program.
