NT4.0 to W2k Migration

By wardymark ·
Within the next month, our school is upgrading to a W2k server, at the moment we have an NT4.0 server set to PDC. The final and ideal situation will be that we need the W2k server as the PDC with all user home directories on and as the main file server, and on the other server which will be upgraded to W2k server set as BDC as an internet and print server. I have heard of the ADMT migration tool, but am unsure of how it works, any help would be grateful
regards Mark

NT4.0 to W2k Migration

Here are some useful links about the functionality and use of the Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT):

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/tools/admt/default.asp

http://www.winnetmag.com/Articles/Index.cfm?ArticleID=15709

http://studyguides.cramsession.com/cramsession/microsoft/win2k_migration/links.asp

Delete any spaces in the URLs. The cramsession link has tons of information...cramsession is one of the best resources I know of. You should find many items of interestthere.

Good luck! Hope this helps...
