    NTAUTOCHCK ON BDC -EXCHANGE SERVER

Our Server NT4.0 with Exchange 5.0 brings us 2 unresoveld problems: When rebooting, the system start autocheck from blue screen WinNT with this message:
“Press any key to abort autochk, aborting autochk may result to an unmounted disk drive
no more available”. If we let it run, this goes up to 37 per cent and the system freezes. Only manual shut down and reboot helps but we next have to cancel autochk to get the server up.
The same BDC cannot restart the Exchange services after the night backup.Again manual shutdown and reboot. We want to install NT and MS Echange if we cannot this this another way. what could be the right procedure for MS Exchange?

    Thanks for your Help !

Sounds like two different problems, although they may be related. If AutoCheck is canceled, it will continue to try and run until it manages to complete. If it can’t complete (freezes), it could mean hardware (HDD) problems. Best bet: bootable diagnostic disk and/or replace drive(s). The other (Exchange not starting) may be fixed by the solution to the first problem, or could be an installation/configuration problem. I would solve potential hardware problems first, then (if necessary) rebuild the server from scratch.
