NTBACKUP and Network Drives

By fjaramillo ·
Here's my situation.

A Win2k Server (Domain Controller) that we
use for performing our backups has over 19 network drives mapped. When I go to 'My Computer' I can see all the network drives present. But yet when I open NTBACKUP under 'My Computer'
not all the Network drives are present. About nine of them are not present.
What is a good way to fix this problem??

Thank you
Nando

How about automating the backup using AT and batch files? (Sorry, the cut and past is kinda ugly...

REM OK, now let's start the backup for Server XXX for Wednesday

ntbackup backup C: E: F: /d "Wednesday_Backup_FILES"/hc:on /b /l "C:\logs\Backup_W.log" /v

REM Now we need to backup the IS and DS

ntbackup backup DS \\Server IS \\Server /d "Backup_W_EX" /hc:on /l "C:\logs\Backup_EX_W.log" /v /a

REM OK, let's pop that sucker out of the drive so it can't be written over agian if someone forgets to change tapes(Eject tape)

ntbackup eject

(Slaps head) Sorry, this is for NT. Forgot which forum I was in. You might be able to do something similar with 2000 backup, but I don't have the quick and dirty for Win2K. Plus, this doesn't really answer your question, it just provides a work around. Monday morning brain fart, sorry for wasting your time.
