Is there a parameter to erase the data on the tape using the ntbackup ?

Unfortunately, no. To erase a tape you have to click erase tape on the nt backup operations menu (either quick erase or secure erase).

Yes, answer 1 is correct. Use /nopoll parameter.
Start NTBackup from the command prompt with the /nopoll parameter, erase the tape, and then quit NTBackup.

NOTE: Do not use the /nopoll parameter for any operation other than erase.
