I’m having a peculiar issue with my backups. I have a Windows XP SP2 machine with an external 1TB USB hard drive attached for backup. I am using Windows ntbackup utility. What is happening is the reports do not save anything previous to the most recent backup. Each backup job is named as the same day it runs. (i.e. Monday’s job is named Monday, Tuesday’s is named Tuesday, etc.) I know the jobs are at least starting, because there is a file with a modified date of when it is scheduled to run. I just don’t have a report to inform me if there were errors during the backup.
Has anyone seen this or know of a fix?
