NtBackup.exe

When I run ntbackup.exe, a tape device has been detected and tape driver started,howeverthe tape device is not reponding. Now this same tape works using veritas software.What could be the problem with ntbackup.exe?

Your problem is that Veritas Backup Exec runs as service(s) and monopolizes the tape all the time. Go to Control Panel, Services. Stop all Backup Exec Services and then run NT Backup.
Also check that you did not install the tape driver that Veritassuplies and claims that work better than NT driver supplied by tape manufacturer. If you did that NTBackup will not run. You must use NT driver supplied by tape manufacturer or standard NT driver supplied by MS.
