Hi

Search for format in the help section, or open a DOS prompt and type

format /?

or

format help

and you should see a list of options which will tell you how to format a hard disk drive with NTFS

Good luck

hi, this; "Type format x : /fs:ntfs, where x is the letter of the drive that you want to format" is it done to a secondary drive, i.e. while in windows xp? If so, is there a format command to clear/wipe a C: drive, when performing a fresh install on a system/machine? I would be grateful for any info regarding the above subject :@) oops! this is a question rather than an answer...

Boot with 98 bootable cd(floppy) then when A appears type Format X: where X is your drive letter with NTFS, or you can boot with 2000 bootable cd then delete all partition then create new partition then format it.Hope this helps.
