NTFS Permissions problem

By whj812 ·
I am having problems removing a group from a shared directory on an windows 2000 server machine. When I remove the group, the server freezes. I have tried changing the permissions, but this does not work either. I need help!

On the server that hosts the share, try doing it from the command line.

You can try cacls.exe or xcacls.exe. If you are talking about share permissions, you can try rmtshare.exe.

I forgot to mention that I did that and received the ever blinking CLI and I had to close the prompt. I have tried to change the group to another group within active directory and got the same problem.
