ntvdm.exe consumee my CPU

when i work under Borland C,the process 'ntvdm.exe' occupies almost 100% of my CPU, why ?

can anything been done to reduce it

The 16-bit virtual machine is well known to consume resources and get out of hand.

This white paper http://www.netvoyager.co.uk/pdf/RTOWP-ConqueringRogueApp.pdf may offer some resolutions.

The real answer is to increase available resources i.e. add RAM or move to a 32-bit operating system version.
