Number of associates per team

Hi everyone,
I am curious to find out how many associates different company’s have per team when it comes to client and or help desk support. Currently we have 12 per team and seems to be to many per team and I just wonder if we have them at their max or if we should reduce the number of associates per team. By the way, I work for a help desk that supports online banking. Any and all input would be appreciated.
