NVIDIA Drivers in Linux

By Frenchwood ·
Does anyone know a sure fire way of getting NVIDIA drivers installed on Linux?

dist:Debian Sarge

I've been toiling on this for days now with little to no sucess, i've tried using the NVIDIA auto installer with a variety of errors turning up, each time i resolve one, another pops up.
I've tried editing /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 after editing various pieces of information!

(see http://home.comcast.net/~andrex/Debian-nVidia/installation.html)

any help would be much appreciated!

cheers

Hi,

well I haven't run into nvidia setup issues yet but I haven't tried Sarge yet.

May I suggest you give us some info regarding the error messages you are getting?

At this point I wonder if you should not roll back your changes and try using Debian's package manager/installer Synaptics.

Let us know what your error messages are and if you have had any other issues. (some basic info about your system and kernel level would be useful)

Solution for this problem is here:

Although i did leave GLcore up - Muppet!!

Thanks again anyway David.
