Obtaining Server Information

How do I find out the full domain name and the IP address on any aix server that I am currently logged into.

look in the /etc/hosts file. If it isn't in /etc then use the find command to locate that file. It should tell you what you want to know.

Thanks but the /etc/hosts file in these particular servers only contain IP and hostname. I want to add full domain names.

# netstat -rn Display routing info with IP address (10.4.27.182)

# namerslv -s | grep domain | awk '{ print $2 }' Displays a fully qualified domain name of a host

or for a menu based menu

# smit > communications applications and services > tcp/ip > minimum conf and startup > choose Network Interface card

also further configuration where hostname, static routes etc are
