By jwesche1 ·
When I try to add the MS Access driver to my ODBC control panel, I get an error stating "Unable to load odbctl32.dll". Machine is running WINNT server 4.0

MS error messages aren't very helpful, are they? A couple of things to check:

Is ODBCTL32.DLL installed in x:\Winnt\System32? If not, try re-installing Access on the server. If so, it might be corrupted - you can rename it and drag a fresh copy into the folder from the original Access CD.

Is SQLServer or any other service that uses ODBC services running? I've often had to shut down services to change configurations because some other process is using the resource I'm trying to change.

I shouldn't ask, but are you doing this while logged on as an Administrator? WinNT doesn't always volunteer the information that I don't have the proper rights when I try making changes without relogging on to an Admin account.
