Whenever i try and run a setup program, or start an MMC that needs setting up, the program doesnt wait for user input – it carrys on and appears to use the defaults. Its as if i sit there clicking Next. This behaviour has just started and the last thing i did (before i noticed it of course ) was install an AR210 ADSL modem and a Sierra PCMCIA GPRS modem.
The laptop is running Windows XPand an up to date version of McAfee virusscan. There are no errors in the event log and i have compared drivers with those on an identical laptop that doesnt display the same behaviour. Any ideas – because i’m stumped !
