OE crash retrieving from POP3

By systems ·
When retrieving emails from POP3 server, my outlook express crashes with error - msimn.exe exception: access violation (0xc0000005) address 0x77f64xxx where xxx could be 7db, a61, 874, ea0, etc.

Nothing by the way of patches, reinstall of IE works. The problem simply returns when the message store folder is repopulated with about 1GB worth of emails (DBX files).

Online search relating to that particular class of dr watson error 0x77f64xxx returns nothing.

Am I knocking my head into some sort of glass ceiling in outlook express?

Hi there,

Try these MS KB articles: 288085 and/or 306064. I have an OE user experiencing the same - he has an IMAP account which does this when sending emails. I haven't tried the 288085 fix yet...
Cheers,

Chris

Thanks but both 288085 (0x5f5875b6) and 306064 (0x35c6211f) are different from what I were facing. Mine is MSIMM.EXE exception access violation at 0x77f64xxx (xxx are 7db, a61, 874, ea0, eb7, dba).
