OE, mbx, idx, dbx

By ticoLoco ·
I understand that OE 4.0 uses mbx and idx to store all the folder information. Now with OE 5.x, dbx shows up.
My question is, when you compact OE folders, my .mbx files decrease in size, why doesn't my .dbx do the same?

WEll, in OE 5.x dbx is use to store the database information of the mailbox (.mbx).
And when compacting the OE folders, the mbx is decreased because the mbx is the file is used to and list all the mailbox whne you view it in OE.
And the mbx is store the information about the email database of OE, so when compressing folders , the dbx file is not decrease cause the email number is not decrease.
