OE vs Thunderbird on Windows 2003 Server

By programm ·

I need to install some email client on terminal services ( W2K3 ).
Mail server is Cyrus IMAP (Linux box).

Mailboxes are very big ( >2GB single file ), and I need to know if OE has the same problem on Windows 2003 Server as on Windows XP, that it hangs system with BSOD, when dbx file is too big.

And if wouldn't be better if I installed Thunderbird on Windows 2003 Server.

I don't want to spend money on MS Outlook.

p.s. W2K3 with terminal services is also a DC so it needs to be very stable.

Go with Thunderbird

Mainly because OE isn't a very robust Application and breaks easily.

I wouldn't be trusting it on what is a very similar OS Type in anything Mission Critical.

Of course Outlook fixed a lot of the issues that OE had and if you need to use a M$ offering it's by far the better choice.
