Office 2000 toolbars problems

By hregan011 ·
After ugrading from office 97 to office 2000 my main applications (aka Power point, Excel, Access, Word) all start fine from the toolbar but the sticky notes etc act as if the weren't even clicked upon, even if I try to start directly from the directory they are in. I tried to unstall and do a complete install but no different results. Any suggestions?

Are you talking about the sticky notes from within Outlook 2000? Rob

All of those configuration are stored in your normal.dot
I would first attempt to make a new template,
and go to view>toolbars>customize and make sure that insert annotation is in there.
You also need to make sure under view>toolbars> that reviewing is checked.
If none of that works. you may delete normal.dot. Word will automatically create a new normal.dot...
If you do all of that and it still is faulty,
I would attempt to overwrite normal.dot with a normal.dot that is working correctly from another computer. That will definately solve it...
Good Luck.
