I am trying to reinstall Office2000 Premium Ed. on my computer because
the system crashed and the OS, W98 SE, had to be reinstalled. I have
tried reinstalling W98SE and new memory with negative results. A full updated virus scan using McAffee, Norton 2001 and System Suite 2000 has not shown any virus contamination. Always the same error message. I also tried changing Config.sys settings to
STACKS=64,512
FILES=60
BUFFERS=40
Same error resulted.
*This is the error given at the beginning of the installation process;

Normally I can figure these problems out pretty well, but this one has me stumped. The systems performance otherwise seems to be OK, but there have been some other program installations that have caused me problems also.
