office 2007 Document Scanning crashes every time

Just got MS Office 2007 installed. Every time I attempt to use the document scanning feature in Office, it crashes immediately when I hit scan. I usually have good luck with Google, but in this case, I seem to be the only person experiencing the problem. I have an hp all in one, and have reinstalled the drivers for it, two of them in fact. I performed a brand new windows installation last week, so the system is fresh.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
Setup: Intel core duo, networked hp 7310 all in one with latest drivers, office 2007.
