Office Pro 2003

Above running under XP sp1
Excel has decided to stop working all others OK including B.C.M.

Have tried Detect & Repair with message verify patch package exists etc.etc.

Cannot uninstall or reinstall Office error message package cannot be opened, verify patch package exists etc.etc.

Any ideas please
