Office Programs Shut down after 10 sec

I recently installed project 2000, and now my other office 2000 aplications terminate by themselves after a 10 second period. I think this may be due to the fact that instead of project appending to a shared office file, it over writes it and now myother office programs like word and excel just terminate, I have tried to repair my standard office 2000 but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
