Offline files Error

By klh456 ·
I have recently configured a new WINXP laptop. Everything works great except for two small items. The first is Offline Files. If I make a change to a file offline and then reconnect I get a message telling me to Close Open Files. There are no files open to my knowledge. When I click OK it will continue to sync the files correctly.

The second issue is more irritation than a problem. When I click the Start Menu, it continuously says there are new programs installed. No new programs have been installed. How can I get rid of that irritating pop-up balloon?

Thanks

Hello,

i will try help find some answers for your offline problem. I know it can be irritating but i simply advise cleaning up the whole thing and see if everything's fine then. Here's the process :
Go to Explorer and Tools/Folder options then choose Offline files.
In the bottom of this window you'll find Suppress Files button.
Make CTRL+ Shift+ click on Suppress files at the same time.
> It suppresses erything in the cache folder that synchronisation is built upon, never touching the files on the server(s). Try this if you can bear the time resynchronisation will take you, after you've made this clean up.
Hope it helps !
