offline files problem

Please anyone help me.I have fresh installed xp pro. sp2 & connected it to the dc running server 2003. I setup up the dc for offline files by clicking on folder options, navigating to the offline files tab & enabled it.But whenever i try to make a shared folder or file work offline the option making it offline is not available. What should i do?
All ur suggestions r welcomed.
