Offline Folder Synchronization Error

By mschlank ·
A user has Offline Folder Synchronization to synch folders from the server "plus" Outlook 2000 folders to his laptop. Recently, one of the folders on our server is "not" synchronizing and giving an error "Offline Files: Unable to make <file name> available offline....Reached the end of the file." Temporarily, I have unselected this particular folder from being synchronized, so that the Synchronization will complete.

How can I have this folder synch? Is the Offline folder run out of space? Is something corrupted. I was trying to see what "Reached the end of the file" meant??

I am not sure what this means. All I could find were many posts with this same problem, and the only suggestion was to check to see if you need to allocate more drive space on the client for the offline files.

Go here to read up on the offline settings:

Try setting the drive space on the client to a larger percentage, then add the folder you are having problems with, and try and sync again.

hope this helps

The other thing I just found was to try and clear out the contents of Offline Folders on the client.
The thread I found said that a person fixed this error on an XP box by opening the Offline Files settings, and clicking the Delete Files button to clear out all synchronized Offline Files.

Then set the troublesome folder to be Offline, and synchronize all.

Good luck!
